‘I may go to Mars and never come back’

Have you ever got so fed up that you’ve thought about stopping everything you’re doing and changing everything in your life?

Have you ever thought about leaving- I mean really leaving the planet?

Well now here’s your chance. You might still have time!!

Mars 1 is a project being funded privately by a Dutch company with the objective of forming a permanent human settlement on Mars. Crews made up of 4 people will depart for Mars every two years starting in 2024. The journey from earth to Mars will take anything between 6 to 9 months and of course, there’s huge risks involved every step of the way.

Each crew will have a specific task to carry out in order to make the settlement as comfortable as possible.

You can find out more about the project here or sign up as a potential candidate for the mission if you think you’d be able to cope.

However, read carefully so you don’t miss the one big snag in the whole project. It’s a one way journey- there is no return ticket. You won’t be able to return to your life on earth.

You can read an interview with one of the five British candidates hoping to be successful in being chosen for the mission.
