Take a book, leave a book- this is an initiative that is bringing communities together.
The mission is quite simple: Promote literacy by building a free book exchange. This movement keeps books alive, endorses the love of reading and allows people to share skills and creativity. Little Free Libraries has now gone worldwide! As of January 2016, there are 36,000 little free libraries around the world. And the best part is that you can take a book without leaving any money, checking it out with a library card, or even asking permission at all. The only thing you are expected to do, is replace it with any book you’d like to leave in its place.
They come in many shapes and sizes, and every Little Free Library is unique. They often have a personal touch, and can look like miniature barns, chalets, birdhouses, British telephone booths and so on. Inside each one you’ll find just about any kind of books. From romance to science fiction, sports to cooking– the list of what sort of surprise you could find inside a Little Free Library is endless!
